A historical reminder that Christians used to hate J.K. Rowling and the Harry Potter books. But they have a common enemy now, because hate wins.
Christians in the early 2000s hated Harry Potter books, and decried the books and #JKRowling were evil, because she was trying to teach kids that witchcraft was “cool.” Skip forward to today and they have embraced her because of their mutual hate of transgender folks. It was always about hate.
Missouri senator Josh Hawley isn’t known for his courage or representing his constituents. Recently though, he said he was going to reject the Big Beautiful Bill because he didn’t want to cut Medicaid funding — doing so would impact many Missourians. We took a moment to sit down with Hawley this past week, and ask him some questions since he had a change of heart on the republican budget cuts.

Torture was bad 20 years ago and it’s still bad today. We think.
We can’t help but wonder what America would look like today, had Cheney and Bush gone to prison for war crimes. Holding politicians accountable for their crimes is important. And we don’t do that in America most the time. And certainly not for the most egregious crimes. Torture is not ok. 👎
